Situated in the village of Norton, halfway between Telford and Bridgnorth in the heart of Shropshire, the Hundred House Hotel is a multi-award winning wedding venue that has heaps of character and charm. This venue holds a special place in my heart, as its where my husband and I were married!
The 17th century Tithe Barn offers a beautiful, rustic setting for both ceremonies and wedding breakfasts. With thousands of twinkling fairy lights woven through the oak beams, and a bespoke chandelier adding a touch of elegance, the barn creates a magical atmosphere to exchange vows.
My favourite feature of the Hundred House Hotel, however, has to be the stunning gardens. They’re perfect for formal group photos and romantic portraits of the newlyweds. The Lover’s Walk leads to the working Kitchen Herb Garden and the enchanting Enchanted Garden, which boasts a pond and quirky statues hidden among the flowers and foliage. If you're lucky, you might even spot a donkey at the bottom of the garden!
Another fabulous aspect of the Hundred House Hotel is the ten uniquely styled bedrooms, each named after a herb. Many of the rooms feature a swing hanging from an oak beam, adding a whimsical touch. ‘Fennel and Dill’ is a lovely room to get ready in, with an inviting four-poster bed as the centerpiece. For even more space, a cleverly converted vintage railway carriage in the gardens offers a charming place to get dressed or even stay the night before the big day.
Are you holding your wedding celebrations at the Hundred House Hotel? I’d love to capture your big day!
