Adorable couple Meg and Jake chose an outdoor ceremony at the Wroxeter Hotel in Shropshire and it was a fantastic day where I was made to feel so welcome by this lovely pair and their families! These two don’t do things by halves, with Meg starting a new job and the couple moving house the week before their wedding, but their big day was super chilled. I love dogs, and I love dogs at weddings, so I was very happy to make the acquaintance of the couple’s cavapoo pup Copper, who greeted me early on when I arrived to photograph Jake getting ready, who had a front row seat at the ceremony, and who was a big hit among the guests, scoring tasty snacks throughout the day and featuring in many photos. Meg and Jake had chosen a lovely sage green colour for their accessories and bridesmaids’ dresses, and I loved how Jake’s bowtie was matched by Copper’s! Meg’s lovely necklace caught my eye, and she explained that it was both her “something blue” and that it held her grandfather’s ashes so he could be close to her on this special day.

The woodland area at the Wroxeter Hotel had a swathe of beautiful wildflowers flanking the path down to the ceremony area, and this formed a really beautiful backdrop for the bridal party entrance, with Meg escorted by her father (who had a fantastic sense of humour and wasn’t fazed by being pooped on by a passing bird!). The couple’s nephews made very sweet page boys, and a friend gave an entertaining reading during the ceremony that had everyone laughing when they realised she was reciting song lyrics. After the confetti had been thrown and Jake and Meg had been congratulated by their guests, they snuck off for a quiet moment to themselves during a short drive in Daisy the vintage VW camper van, which had brought Meg and her bridesmaids to the wedding earlier on. After a short drive we took the opportunity to grab some photos of the couple, and some family group shots before enjoying the sunshine in the gardens at the venue. Meg and Jake had arranged for an ice cream cart to keep their guests cool in the summer sun, which was a fab idea (and also appreciated by Copper, who nibbled more than a few bits of cone snuck to him by the guests!).
