Amie and Elliot’s November wedding at Foxtail Barns in Staffordshire was a date meant to be! Originally the couple were due to marry at a different venue in springtime, but when Covid forced a postponement, the date available at the venue fell on their eighth anniversary and the anniversary of the proposal - how serendipitous! Amie and Elliot’s little son was joined by their young nephew as two adorable page boys, and the couple’s young daughter and nieces looked beautiful in their twirly white flower girl dresses. The couple’s daughter had also written (with the help of her grandmother) and gave a very sweet speech to express her happiness at seeing her parents married.
Amie and Elliot planned a great day for their guests, with lots of fun details including an abundance of confetti, a bouquet toss (the first time I’ve photographed one!), evening entertainment provided by a close-up magician, bespoke light-up letters decorating the dancefloor with the couple’s name, and a surprise “Host the Roast”, where one guest from each of the reception tables had been chosen to receive a chef’s hat and apron, and was given the responsibility of carving and serving the roasted meat for the main course of the wedding breakfast.
Despite the chill of the November day, Amie and Elliot made great use of the beautiful grounds of the Consall estate for their couples portraits, and were blessed by some lovely golden light as the sun set. My personal favourites are the photos taken of the couple on the little bridge among the Autumn foliage, and of Amie and Elliot framed against the setting sun reflected in the lake. We also had fun after dark taking a few dramatic shots in the venue’s courtyard under the iron pergola.
