A groom kisses the top of his bride's head at a wedding at Davenport House in Shropshire

Laura and Reiss’s late October wedding was held at the beautiful Davenport House, near Worfield in Shropshire. This was my second visit to Davenport this year and the house provides a great venue for a fantastic day! Laura and Reiss chose to marry in a civil ceremony in the elegant Great Hall, with Laura making her entrance via the epic staircase, escorted by her father. After confetti and group photos on the house’s steps, Laura and Reiss made the most of the lovely grounds and the golden October light for their couple portraits, in addition to returning indoors for some stunning candle-lit shots of Laura on the staircase to show off her beautiful dress and veil. Later in the afternoon we were blessed with a beautiful autumnal sunset, and managed to dash out and squeeze in a few photos in between courses of the wedding breakfast!

In addition to providing the florals for the bouquets and buttonholes, local floristry wizards Ginger Lily also dressed the house with beautiful arrangements in the brass pedestal bowls in the Great Hall wall alcoves, and with mini-moongates adorning the wedding breakfast tables. I really loved how the softly muted colour palette of the flowers echoed the mavue hue of Reiss’s suit, and the lilac shade of the bridesmaids’ dresses!
