Lydia and Pete chose the stunning Davenport House, just outside the picturesque village of Worfield, near Bridgnorth in Shropshire, for their late August wedding.
This was my first visit to Davenport House and it did not disappoint! This Georgian house has many fantastic features for family and friends to enjoy, including a very grand staircase, festooned with flowers and candles, leading down into the Great Hall and the perfect spot to make a dramatic entrance! I also loved the quiet elegance of the Drawing Room where the speeches and wedding breakfast were held, and the rich opulence of the Saloon, with doors leading out onto the lawn and to the lily pond for guests to enjoy the sunshine and their canapes.
After joining some of their guests at the Dog Inn and Davenport Arms for a very quick pint, groom Pete and his groomsmen took a short stroll through the charming village of Worfield to St. Peter’s church to be married to the lovely Lydia, who looked beautiful in her richly detailed Made With Love Bridal dress. After a relaxed afternoon enjoying the late summer sun with their guests, music fans Pete and Lydia ended the evening with great live music in the Great Hall, featuring some enthusiastic tambourine playing by several guests and some lively dancing.
